The History of LAS Agric Ltd - John Deere Dealers - Wales, UK
It all began in 1979 in the market town of Lampeter. John Adrian Saunders decided to open his own
Agricultural Dealership, selling Ford Machinery, after working for Greens. He was joined by his two sons, Christopher & Robin. Both boys took interests in different sides of the business. Chris ventured into the waste & recycling side of Lampeter
Agricultural Services, while Robin stayed with the agricultural side.
In 1989 LAS decided to leave Ford and become John Deere dealers. A move to Narberth followed in 1992 and its from the purpose built location there, (click to see an arial view of the premises in 1992) that the reputation for high standards of
service was established, that is still enjoyed by today's customers. Sadly, John Saunders passed away in 1995 and Robin
then become Managing Director of LAS Agricultual Ltd. In 2000 his wife Susan also joined him in the company, as a Director
and together their visions of what a modern agricultural dealership should look like, started to emerge. A complete faclift of
the stores, landscaped gardens, a demonstration area and a state-of-the-art workshop completed the look.
However in 2005 Robin suddenly passed away, at the age of 49. It was a complete shock to everyone, but
Susan, bravely, decided to carry on running the business, along with her team of invaluable staff. With John Deere firmly
behind her she succeeded in becoming one of only two female Dealer Principals in the whole of the UK.
In 2007 Emma's partner Glyn joined the team from Yorkshire. He has undertaken the
role of General Manager & since he has joined we have incresed our product range & LAS is continually going from strength
to strength. Glyn & Emma were married in August 2008 and things look pretty certain for the future at LAS. In late 2009 daughters Emma & Lucy left the businessand decided to persue more girly business interests! (

LAS continues to go from strength to strength. Glyn has now become Dealer Principle, and despite continued expansion remains a family concern with a total
commitment to serving the farming community throughout West Wales. All this has only been achievable with our fantastic
team, some of whom have been with us since 1992!. Click here to meet the team
